Powerful Promotions

Select & Save provides its members with very powerful promotions on a three weekly cycle. Promotions are selected for their ability to drive sales in-store, as well as increasing footfall. Products are selected from major branded lines, as well as known value lines to maximise consumer awareness of the great value on offer. Due to the current economic climate we are focusing heavily on promoting items with a strong single price point, as well as featuring lines on a range of multi-buy deals such as ‘Buy One Get One Free’ and ‘2 for 1s’.

Every promotional period we show price comparisons against Tesco; if we can’t beat Tesco’s price on a product then quite simply it won’t feature in our leaflet. More recently we have also been showing price comparisons against other major supermarkets, enabling our retailers to show a massive saving of at least £10 on certain lines.

We also produce high quality, full colour point of sale material, including window bills, shelf talkers, shelf strips and stack cards to create awareness of promotions.

Leaflet Distribution

To support the strong promotional offering we produce a full colour consumer leaflet for our members to use in their neighbourhood catchment area. These are distributed every three weeks. In addition we create new store opening leaflets which can be distributed in the target catchment area.

The Select & Save Policy of strong promotional offers ensures that our members remain competitive in their local area. This drives footfall which in turn drives the profitability of your store.

While we fully recommend that each member distributes their own Select & Save consumer leaflets, we are able to arrange leaflet distribution on your behalf. We have teamed up with a national distributor for this purpose and have negotiated preferential rates for our members.


Advertising is crucial for making customers aware of what your store has to offer. We advertise in all the evening newspapers to spread the message about the great offers available at Select & Save stores. New for 2010, we will be launching radio advertising, taking to the air to promote the savings customers can make in your store.
